Bryan Thielke VIEW PROFILE

Bryan Thielke 1951 ~ 2010 Bryan Fredrick Thielke, 58, died at his home in Issaquah, WA of pancreatic cancer on Feb. 8, 2010. He was born Sept. 18, 1951 in Salt Lake City, the son of Barry Arthur Thielke and Glenna Ruth Archer. He attended East High School and the University of Utah. While in college, he did a summer journalism internship in New York City. There, he met Linda Brown, another intern from California. They were married in Salt Lake in 1978. Bryan realized his dream of working in television news when he was hired on to the assignment desk at KSL in 1979. He worked his way up to producer, and then moved on to another producer position at KMGH in Denver. In 1983, he was hired at KIRO TV in Seattle, where he eventually became the assignment manager. He is survived by: his wife, Linda of Issaquah, WA; daughter and family Kathleen, Eric and Georgia Gustafson of Tinley Park, IL; son Brett of Kirkland, WA; brother Bruce of Salt Lake City; and sister and family Merle, Ron and Elizabeth Witter of Gig Harbor, WA. Services and burial were held in Issaquah on Feb. 13. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Bryan's memory to Arts Corps, a non-profit arts education program, at www.artscorps.org.
